CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A team of doctors from AIIMS, led by Executive Professor Ajay Singh, organized a health camp at the Civil Hospital in Bareilly, Raisen district. Professor Singh is a strong advocate for extending healthcare services to underserved rural populations. This initiative is part of AIIMS’s ongoing commitment to extending healthcare services to rural populations in neighboring districts of Bhopal, reinforcing their commitment to the state and region.
State Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narendra Shivaji Patel and Hemant Chaudhary, President of Bareilly Municipal Council, participated in this outreach program. The camp was coordinated by Team Pahal, a social welfare organization from Bareilly, Raisen district. During this outreach program, the AIIMS team attended to a total of 122 patients. Among them, 62 patients were related to oral cancer, and 12 were found positive for cancer screening, showing clinically malignant ulcers. Additionally, 60 patients received consultations.
A session on public awareness about screening and early detection of oral, breast, and cervical cancer was also conducted by AIIMS cancer specialists. Approximately 50 people participated in this public awareness session. During the event, a tree plantation drive was also conducted by the team. The AIIMS Bhopal team included Dr. Ankit Jain and Dr. Akanksha Chaudhary.
Dr. Ajay Singh praised the dedication and service of the team and emphasized the importance of such outreach activities in bridging the healthcare gap between urban and rural areas. He reiterated AIIMS’s commitment to continuing efforts to increase access to and quality of healthcare for all.
