CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Joining the All India Radio (AIR) Ujjain Centre is not just a job, but a great responsibility. On radio, an announcer’s face is not their identity—their voice is, and through that voice, listeners experience joy, compassion, and emotions. This is why AIR remains relevant today and continues to connect with people’s sentiments.

Rajesh Singh Kushwah, Executive Council Member of Vikram University, Ujjain, addressed the closing ceremony of the seven-day training workshop for 68 announcers/compères selected by Prasar Bharati for the AIR Ujjain Centre, held at the School of Continuing Education and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The ceremony was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Arpan Bhardwaj. Distinguished guests included Prakashchandra Dhangar, Provincial President of Vidya Bharati Malwa, Rajesh Bhatt, Programme Head of AIR Bhopal, and Sushil Kumar Sharma, Director-in-Charge of the School of Continuing Education.

In his address, Chief Guest Kushwah stated that the opening of the new AIR Centre in Ujjain is a result of the foresight of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. He highlighted that the selection process focused solely on the voice, not on appearance or personal identity. Completing the training in 10 days was challenging, but the participants successfully accomplished it through discipline and dedication. He emphasized that the voice of Ujjain will now resonate on the global stage.

Chairperson Arpan Bhardwaj appreciated the announcers’ presentations and voices, noting that radio remains one of the most powerful mediums of mass communication. He also discussed the nuances of pronunciation and voice modulation.

Anamika Chakravarty, Programme Head of AIR Ujjain, said that the station is not just a broadcasting centre but a family. She congratulated all the selected announcers and urged everyone to collectively take Ujjain to new heights.

Trainers Sanjeev Malviya and Purushottam Srivastava praised the participants for their enthusiasm and learning ability. The ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including Saurabh Awasthi, Ajay Sharma, and Rajesh Verma.

The ceremony began with the offering of flowers before the image of Maa Vagdevi, and the event was conducted by Rashmi Bajaj.
