CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh chaired a meeting of the Airfield Environment Management Committee at the Raja Bhoj Airport auditorium, emphasizing the need to enhance safety, cleanliness, and the surrounding environment of the airport. He directed a thorough review of all security measures and called for increased police patrolling. He also instructed the installation of streetlights under flyovers and other areas to prevent criminal activities.

The Commissioner highlighted the importance of ensuring efficient health services at the airport and directed the examination and provision of necessary facilities. He ordered a crackdown on unlicensed meat and fish shops, instructing their closure, and called for strict action against illegal open-air vendors as per regulations. He emphasized maintaining cleanliness and ensuring strict adherence to rules for all shops.

The Commissioner also mandated that any construction in the city and rural areas near the airport must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Airports Authority of India. No construction should begin without an NOC, and municipal authorities were instructed to permit construction only after receiving the certificate.

During the meeting, the Airport Director presented details of the facilities and activities at Raja Bhoj Airport through a PowerPoint presentation. The meeting was attended by ADM Siddharth Jain, Airport Director Ramji Awasthi, members of the Airports Authority of India, and other relevant officials.

Commissioner Singh directed that the use of lasers and high-intensity lights in the vicinity of the airport and flight approach areas be prohibited as per regulations. He instructed local police stations to monitor and enforce these rules in their jurisdictions. The municipal corporation was tasked with identifying garbage points near the airport and ensuring their regular cleaning. Stray dogs were also to be managed through regular patrols by dog squads.

To ensure safety around the airport, the Commissioner ordered regular inspection and trimming of trees in the area. He advised coordination between the municipal corporation and the aviation authority for these activities.

Additionally, the use of laser beams and high-intensity lights at marriage gardens near Raja Bhoj Airport was to be restricted. These gardens would be inspected, and appropriate actions were to be taken in accordance with regulations.
