CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball, Chess, Table Tennis, Carrom, 100m Race, Football, Turf Cricket (Kids’ Sport), and Tug of War Competitions Held; Team Alpha Becomes Cricket Champion

Bhopal: The five-day AISECT Annual Sports Meet 2025 was successfully organized at the Scope Campus by AISECT and Scope Global Skills University. This year, participants showcased their talents in cricket, volleyball, chess, badminton, table tennis, 100m race, football, tug of war, and carrom. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Scope Global Skills University, AISECT headquarters, and all affiliated institutions.

In the cricket final, Team Alpha defeated SGSU Royal to claim the championship. Royal SGSU won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 84 runs. In response, Team Alpha chased the target without losing a wicket. Man of the Match was Sami ur Rahman from Team Alpha, while Man of the Series was Abhishek Chandel from SGSU Royals. The Best Batsman award went to Sami ur Rahman, and the Best Fielder award was claimed by Raman of AISECT Superkings. In women’s cricket, the Financial Inclusion Team emerged victorious.

In volleyball, the Coordination Team defeated SGSU 2-1 in a three-set match. In table tennis doubles, Ajay Chaubey and Sitesh Sinha won the title, with Uddipan Chatterjee and Umesh Dua as runners-up. In men’s singles, Amit Singh won, and Ajay Chaubey was runner-up. In women’s singles, Mansi Nigam was the winner and Ashi Dixit the runner-up.

In tug of war, Technology Team defeated the Financial Inclusion Team to become champions. In the 100m race, winners were Satish and Sonali Raghuvanshi, and runners-up were Ravi and Tarishi in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. In chess, HO category winners were Prashant Nikam and runner-up Ankit Sharma; SGSU category winners were Tapas Kumar and runner-up Anurag Kulesh. Women’s chess winners were Anjana Tripathi and runner-up Shaheen Khan.

In carrom, HO category men’s winners were Kuber Singh and Parag, and runners-up were Ashish Parashar and Mayank Srivastava. Women’s winners were Swati Sahu and Nirmala Singh. In SGSU men’s category, winners were Dr. S.K. Nagpure and Surjeet Singh, and runners-up were Dharmendra Negi and Tanmay. In football, Young Boys (Coordination Team) defeated FFFC to win the title.

The closing ceremony was graced by Sanjay Bhardwaj, coach of international players like Gautam Gambhir and Amit Mishra and recipient of the Dronacharya Award, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi (Chancellor, Scope Global Skills University), Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha (Registrar), Dr. Vijay Singh (Vice-Chancellor), and Ajay Chaubey.

In his address, Sanjay Bhardwaj encouraged all participants and advised them to adopt sports regularly in their lives. He also appreciated the AISECT Group for organizing the event, giving people an opportunity to engage in sports amid work. Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, in his speech, inspired everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and taking up at least one sport in the new year. He congratulated all AISECT employees for participating and performing excellently in the sports meet.
