CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Representatives of AISECT are participating with FICCI’s skills delegation in the World Skills Conference being held in Shanghai, China. The delegation includes Abhishek Pandit, Executive Vice President, AISECT India; Sitesh Kumar Sinha, Registrar, Scope Global Skills University; and Abhishek Gupta, General Manager-Projects, AISECT India.
During the conference, the delegation is studying various aspects related to the changing global landscape of skill development, technical and vocational education, training methods, and better coordination between industry and skill development. The delegation is also visiting various technical institutes and industries in Shanghai. Visits to some institutions and industries have been completed, while visits to other institutions and interactions with experts are continuing.
Through these visits, the delegation is gaining first-hand understanding of modern training methods being adopted in technical and vocational education, the changing needs of industries, and various models being developed to provide youth with employment-oriented skills.
AISECT has long been working in the field of skill development and connecting youth with employment-oriented training. As part of this effort, for the past two years AISECT, in collaboration with MPSSDM, has been organising the State Level Skills Competition at the Scope Global Skills University campus, in which more than 150 youth participated across eight trades. The competition provided young participants an opportunity to showcase their technical and practical skills. Three participants who performed well last year also reached the national-level competition. The experiences being gained through the participation of AISECT representatives in the World Skills Conference are providing an opportunity to understand the changing global scenario of skill development. In particular, visits to technical institutions and industries are offering insights into how education, technology and industry requirements are being linked together to prepare youth for future employment.
