CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Maharashtra : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President Ajit Pawar has issued a stern warning to party workers following two controversies involving NCP members. Speaking at a gathering in Pune on August 1, 2025, Pawar condemned acts such as celebratory firing and public misconduct, stating they bring disrepute not only to the individuals involved but also to the Nationalist Congress Party as a whole.
The warning comes after a disturbing incident in Daund, where the brother of an NCP MLA allegedly fired a gun at a local “tamasha” event in Chaufula village. Pawar, visibly agitated, urged party members not to indulge in such behavior, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and focusing on developmental work.
He also addressed the serious issue of the alleged dowry death of Vaishnavi Hagawane, where NCP leader Rajendra Hagawane and his family face accusations of harassment. Pawar questioned whether the party ever endorsed such actions and made it clear that criminal behavior will not be tolerated under the NCP banner.
With elections on the horizon, Pawar’s comments are seen as an attempt to reinforce ethical standards within the party and protect its public image.
