CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, the All India Inter-University Jiu-Jitsu (Men & Women) Championship 2025–26, hosted by LNCT University, Bhopal, was inaugurated.

The event was formally inaugurated at the LNCT University Auditorium by Dr. Anupam Chouksey, Chancellor Secretary, JNCT Professional University and Secretary, LNCT Group; R.K. Sharma, Sports Officer, TIT; and Pankaj Jain, Sports Director, LNCT Group.

More than 500 players and officials from 55 universities across the country are participating in the championship. On the first day, various matches were आयोजित in the men’s Ne-waza category and women’s Fighting System category.

In the women’s Fighting System -45 kg weight category, Shivani from Kumaun University won the gold medal by defeating Harshita from Swami Vivekananda University. Earlier, Shivani defeated Ekta from Scope Global University in the first semifinal, while Harshita defeated Dolemon from Guwahati University in the second semifinal to reach the final.

In the women’s Fighting System -48 kg weight category, Lahori from Kumaun University secured the gold medal by defeating Kajal from JRN University. In the semifinals, Lahori defeated Diksha from Maa Shakambhari University, while Kajal defeated Isha from SRM University to enter the final.

In the women’s Fighting System -52 kg weight category, Lavanya from Scope Global University won the gold medal by defeating Shiprana from Kumaun University. In the semifinals, Shiprana defeated Garima from Dr. K.N. Modi University, while Lavanya defeated Diksha from Maa Shakambhari University to secure a place in the final.

In the men’s Ne-waza -56 kg weight category final, Jitendra from IASE Rajasthan won the gold medal by defeating Shashank Bora from Kumaun University. In the semifinals, Jitendra defeated Abdul from the University of Calicut, while Shashank defeated Harsh from Gurugram University to reach the final.

In the men’s Ne-waza -62 kg weight category final, Deekshant from MJP Rohilkhand University won the gold medal by defeating Kuldeep from Desh Bhagat University. In the semifinals, Deekshant defeated Chera from Gandhi University, while Kuldeep defeated Krish from Indira Gandhi University to secure their spots in the final.
