CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has announced that the Amarnath Yatra 2025 will be conducted for a reduced duration of 38 days, marking the shortest pilgrimage period in recent years. Traditionally spanning 40 to 60 days, this year’s yatra will begin on 1st July and conclude on 7th August 2025. The decision to curtail the duration has been taken considering weather forecasts, logistical challenges, and safety protocols. Pilgrims are advised to complete their registration in advance and undergo medical fitness checks before participating.

Authorities aim to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees while maintaining the sanctity of the annual spiritual journey to the holy Amarnath cave shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir. Enhanced security, medical services, and digital monitoring systems will be in place to assist pilgrims throughout the route.

This move has triggered mixed reactions—while some welcome the focus on safety and management, others express concern about limited access for devotees. Regardless, the reduced window underscores the importance of timely planning for those wishing to embark on the yatra this year.
