CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Ajay Singh, an essay writing competition was organized at the College of Nursing on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The theme of the competition was “Women Empowerment: The Legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.” The objective of the event was to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to social justice, gender equality, and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
Students from B.Sc Nursing, MBBS programs, and nursing staff participated enthusiastically in the competition. Through their essays, participants effectively presented Dr. Ambedkar’s ideology, constitutional contributions, and his strong commitment to women’s rights.
The first prize was awarded to Veena Pandey (First Year, B.Sc Nursing), the second prize to Jayesh Kumar (Senior Nursing Officer), and the third prize to Uday Panth (Third Year, MBBS). Director Ajay Singh appreciated the creativity of all participants and stated, “Dr. Ambedkar’s ideology continues to guide society even today.”
The program was coordinated by Directors Santosh Wakode, Mamta Verma, Vaishali Walke, and Rajkumar. The panel of judges included Directors Vijendra Singh, Seema Mahant, and Rajratan Gupta.
The event was further enriched by a blood donation camp and a health check-up camp organized on the same occasion.
