She particularly questioned actresses who travel with large teams during film shoots and promotions, the expenses for which are allegedly borne by producers.
Ameesha made the remarks during a question-and-answer session with fans on the social media platform X. A fan had asked her whether it was justified to travel with additional team members at producers’ expense. In response, the actress said the cost of some female artistes’ promotional entourages could be higher than their film’s first-day earnings.
She also questioned whether artistes would keep such large teams with them in their personal lives if producers did not bear the cost. Ameesha did not name any actress.
An entourage may typically include a manager, make-up artist, hair stylist, stylist and other professionals. Ameesha’s comments have brought back discussion over the role of artistes’ personal teams in film production and promotional expenses. However, she did not share any specific expense details or figures related to any film in support of her claim.
Ameesha has previously also expressed her views on social media about stardom, PR and artistes’ image in Bollywood. The actress is known for her performances in films such as ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ and ‘Gadar 2’.
