CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies, Bhopal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lead a foot march in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign. The march is being organised in response to protests by the Congress and opposition parties over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. Through the campaign, the BJP is preparing to challenge the Congress’s stand and the allegations being levelled against the electoral process.

The foot march will begin at 3 p.m. from the statue of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram at Bashirbagh. It will pass through the Abids area and reach Mozamjahi Market at around 6 p.m. Several senior party leaders, including Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, will join Amit Shah. The BJP alleges that the Congress and opposition parties are spreading misinformation about the SIR process and questioning the credibility of electoral institutions. On the other hand, the Congress and the opposition alliance claim that there is a fear that the names of a large number of voters may be deleted during the revision of the voter list. On the same issue, the opposition held a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1.

Under this campaign, BJP national president Nitin Naveen will also lead foot marches in Bihar and West Bengal. Programmes are scheduled in Bhagalpur, Bihar, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and in Kolkata from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The political confrontation between the BJP and the opposition over SIR is continuing to intensify. In the coming days, the issue may play an important role in the country’s politics.
