CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s message on language and youth is being widely discussed. He appealed to young people, especially Gen Z, to learn Indian languages and promote their use. Amit Shah stressed that taking Hindi forward does not mean opposing other Indian languages. The government’s official language policy has also consistently emphasised the protection and development of all Indian languages along with Hindi.
Amit Shah has said earlier that there should be no competition between Hindi and other Indian languages; rather, they complement one another. He has said India’s linguistic diversity is the country’s strength and that it is necessary to move forward by taking all languages along.
Hindi Diwas is observed every year on September 14. On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union. Hindi Diwas is observed in memory of this historic decision.
In today’s digital and global era, knowledge of multiple languages is considered useful for young people in terms of education, employment and communication. Learning regional and foreign languages along with Hindi can broaden linguistic understanding and the range of opportunities.
