CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan apologised to the people of his ancestral village, Babu Patti, from the stage of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’. When contestant Chandra Prakash Tiwari, who is connected with Pratapgarh, appeared on the show, Amitabh recalled the birthplace of his father and celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. During the conversation, he also spoke about the proposed library for children in the village, which has not yet become fully operational.

Amitabh said that when his wife Jaya Bachchan visited Babu Patti, she suggested setting up a library to provide better reading facilities for the village children. The library building was subsequently constructed, but it has not yet been fully functional because the required resources and other arrangements could not be completed.

During KBC, Amitabh apologised to the people of Babu Patti for the delay and assured them that the library would be opened soon. He said the building is ready and that necessary items and books will now be arranged so that children can use it for reading and study.

Babu Patti is located in Raniganj tehsil of Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district and is linked to the Bachchan family’s ancestral identity. In 2006, Jaya Bachchan inaugurated the Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Library there.
