Amruta Fadnavis says do not see me as political wife

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is often in the news for her outspoken remarks. Amid social media trolling and political comments, she has also spoken openly about her public identity. Amruta says she should not be seen merely as the wife of a politician.

Amruta has earlier said that Devendra Fadnavis and she respect each other’s thinking and personal space. Speaking about trolling, she had said that women who are independent and have their own voice are targeted on social media. According to her, the noise of trolls should be ignored and the focus should remain on one’s work and purpose.

Amruta Fadnavis is also active in social activities and public programmes. Recently, she opposed the demand to bar Muslims from entering garba events in Maharashtra, saying that if a Muslim person comes to a festival and participates properly, she does not see any objection to it. Her statement also generated discussion in the state’s politics.

Because of her public activism and outspoken views, Amruta often faces both support and criticism on social media.
