CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will exchange their wedding vows on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. All eyes are on what special dishes are available on the wedding menu.
One of the highlights of the wedding is a chaat stall from Varanas’s popular Kashi Chaat Bhandaar. Reports say that Nita Ambani, while visiting Varanasi on June 24 to seek blessings at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, had invited shop owner Rakesh Keshari to set up a stall at the venue after she sampled various dishes.
Among the food items on the menu are palak chaat, chana kachori, tikki chaat, kulfi falooda and tomato chaat.
“Nita Ambani came to our chaat bhandaar on June 24. She was very happy and said that the chaat of Banaras is very famous. It was a pleasure to serve her,” Keshari told ANI.
Kashi Chaat Bhandaar, which was established 70 years ago, has seen famous chefs like Ranveer Brar and Sanjeev Kapoor visiting the shop, following which they tried to imitate the secret recipes on their TV shows.
The pre-wedding gala was around 2,500 dishes being served to the guests. The chefs included the likes of French chef Loic Portalier from Singapore’s Claudine Restaurant, Thai chef Tukta Puripanya, British chef of Turkish Cypriot heritage Selin Kiazim, pastry chef Anna Polyviou from Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel, chef Ritu Dalmia who co-owns Diva, a Delhi-based Italian restaurant and Nud Dudhia of Breddos Tacos.
Drinks in the pre-wedding gala menu included aam panna and shikanji while sweet delicacies included mohanthal, peda, churma laddoo, kesar peda, halwasan and pista mithani along with other items like gathiya namkeen and Surati khari.
