CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Hyderabad court has granted interim bail until June 25 to Bandi Sai Bageerath, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case has attracted significant public and political attention due to the serious allegations involved and the accused's association with a senior Union minister. According to reports, Bageerath was previously arrested after a complaint was filed alleging sexual assault of a minor girl. Investigators had launched an extensive search operation after he allegedly failed to appear before police following the issuance of summons. He later surrendered and was remanded to judicial custody. The Telangana High Court had earlier declined to grant him interim protection from arrest. During legal proceedings, the defense argued that the relationship was consensual, while the complainant's side opposed bail, citing concerns about the nature of the allegations and the possibility of influencing witnesses. The interim bail granted by the Hyderabad court is valid until June 25, and the case remains under investigation. Further legal proceedings are expected as authorities continue examining evidence and statements related to the allegations.
