CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under National Nutrition Month, the Women and Child Development Department and Muskaan Sanstha jointly organised a dialogue, participation and public awareness programme under Angan Milan Seva at Anganwadi Centre No. 654, Suraj Nagar, of the Banganga project. The objective of the programme was to make women, adolescent girls and children aware of proper nutrition, health and prevention of malnutrition.
At the programme, the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet was explained in a simple and effective manner through the Poshan Matka and various nutritious food items. The women and families present were encouraged to include local and nutritious food items in daily life and to pay special attention to the health of children and mothers.
Ward No. 26 councillor Rukmani Uikey, zone chairperson Anita Kaneja, CDPO Akhilesh Chaturvedi, supervisor Neelam Sharma, ANM Anita Mishra from the Health Department, ASHA workers Suman and Sapna, along with Anganwadi workers, assistants, women, lactating mothers and children were present. Kavita and facilitator Pooja participated on behalf of Muskaan Sanstha. Around 80 participants took an active part in the programme.
The programme began with an introduction to Angan Milan Seva. This was followed by a group rendition of the song “Aanchal ke tujhe main leke chalun, ek aise gagan ke tale,” which created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and belonging.
During the programme, health check-ups of pregnant women were conducted. Beneficiaries receiving benefits under various government schemes shared their experiences and explained how the schemes were helping them. Their experiences motivated other women and adolescent girls to obtain information about government schemes and use the facilities available.
All participants present at the programme were administered a pledge to build a nutrition-aware and malnutrition-free society. The participants resolved to play their role in making children, adolescents and women free from malnutrition, healthy and strong, and to take the message of proper nutrition to every household during National Nutrition Month.
On the occasion, the contribution of both Anganwadi workers and assistants of the Anganwadi centre was honoured by presenting them with a shreephal and shawl. The honour symbolised gratitude for their continuous contribution to spreading awareness on nutrition and health in the community.
The programme concluded with the distribution of fruits to all participants. Women, adolescent girls, mothers and children actively participated throughout the event. Through the programme, information on nutrition, health awareness and government schemes was increased in the community, while the spirit of collective responsibility and participation was also strengthened.
The programme concluded successfully with the resolve of “proper nutrition, healthy families and a strong society.”
