CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of Anganwadi workers of the Phanda Project under the Women and Child Development Department was held on Monday at the Old Court premises in Bhopal. The meeting was chaired by Hari Krishna Sharma, Joint Director, Bhopal Division.
At the meeting, Joint Director Sharma directed the Anganwadi workers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and full alertness. He said Anganwadi centres are an important unit for the implementation of various public welfare schemes of the government. Each worker should ensure timely delivery of services to beneficiaries at her centre and effective monitoring of departmental schemes.
He instructed them to ensure 100 percent compliance with the activities and directions prescribed under the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan. He also laid special emphasis on completing the set targets of the department’s major schemes and programmes within the stipulated time frame.
The Joint Director specifically directed that greater attention be paid to the management of malnourished (SAM/MAM) children. He said regular identification, health check-ups, necessary treatment and follow-up of children in the SAM/MAM category must be ensured, and continuous efforts should be made to improve their nutritional status. Workers were also instructed to maintain regular contact with children and their parents and to ensure that they receive the proper benefits of available government services.
Reviewing the progress of departmental schemes at the meeting, he encouraged the workers to carry out time-bound, quality-oriented and result-focused work. He said providing better services to children, pregnant women and lactating mothers through Anganwadi centres is among the department’s highest priorities.
