CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, a flagship event titled “Kaushal Charcha” was organized under the joint aegis of Scope Global Skills University (SGSU) and AISECT. The event brought together prominent personalities from the fields of industry, education, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The chief guest was V.S. Mehrotra, Head Director of Curriculum Development and Evaluation Center at PSSCIVE. The keynote speaker was Anis Merchant, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Innovation at IP & Analytics Consulting. Also present were S.K. Parashar, General Manager at MAPSET, and Ashish Kolarkar, CEO of DataTrek.

They were joined on stage by Chancellor of SGSU, Siddharth Chaturvedi, and Vice Chancellor Vijay Singh. Other notable attendees included Registrar of SGSU, Sitesh Kumar Sinha, and General Manager of AISECT, Abhishek Gupta.
During his keynote, Anis Merchant spoke to the youth about the changes and opportunities emerging due to AI. He stated that AI is opening new doors to jobs and opportunities, but it also presents challenges to traditional manpower-based roles. Emphasizing the human element, Merchant said, “AI is important, but understanding and executing tasks meaningfully still requires the human touch.”
He clarified that a technical or engineering degree is no longer a prerequisite to learn AI. Today, even students from commerce and non-technical backgrounds can become proficient in AI through short courses, internships, and diplomas, leading to promising careers. He advised youth not to see AI, data science, or tech only as job tools but as platforms to enhance knowledge and skills. He added, “In today’s world, smart work, continuous learning, research, and networking are the real keys to success. Youth must keep up with AI and constantly upgrade their capabilities.”

Following this, chief guest V.S. Mehrotra emphasized the need to learn life skills in addition to digital skills, and suggested reducing overdependence on technology.
S.K. Parashar highlighted the importance of skill development for career growth, while Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi remarked that AI is now embedded in marketing, creativity, language, and other fields, making it essential for faculty to upgrade themselves to effectively teach students.
Vice Chancellor Vijay Singh highlighted the importance of World Youth Skills Day, stating that skill development has become an integral part of life, and in today’s technological age, “those who don’t keep themselves updated will fall behind.”

At the end of the event, outstanding participants were honored. Out of many school-level participants in the AI Digital Poster Making and AI Art Image Generation competitions, 50 students were selected. College students who excelled in Web Development, Cyber Security, 3D Gaming Art, and Graphic Design were also awarded.
Additionally, trainers, skill instructors, and mobilizers were felicitated with certificates of appreciation for their exceptional services. Finally, selected students received offer letters for their placements.
