CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid growing concerns over the safety of artificial intelligence, AI company Anthropic and consulting firm Accenture have announced plans to invest at least $2 billion over the next five years. The two companies will each commit at least $1 billion toward independent evaluation and safety testing of AI models.
The partnership will be led by Faculty, Accenture’s specialist AI unit. The team will test Anthropic’s advanced, or frontier, AI models. The work will include red-teaming, assessment of AI model behaviour and safety measures, and alignment assessments.
According to Anthropic, the arrangement is being described as “embedded evaluation.” Under it, independent evaluators will work inside the company and receive the same level of access as employees. This will allow them to assess model development, safety processes and potential weaknesses more directly.
The move comes at a time when concern is rising in the technology sector over the unpredictable behaviour of AI agents and the possibility of them moving beyond human control. Anthropic has said it will also work with other evaluation organisations, while the partnership will be non-exclusive.
