Indian alpine skier Arif Khan has officially qualified for the Slalom event at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. This marks the second Olympic ticket for the talented athlete from Jammu & Kashmir, who previously represented India as the sole participant at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The 35-year-old skier secured automatic qualification based on his FIS (Fédération Internationale de Ski) points. He now aims to qualify for the Giant Slalom event in upcoming competitions. The men’s skiing events at Milano-Cortina 2026 will be held at the Stelvio Ski Center in Bormio, Italy.

Arif Mohammad Khan is considered one of India’s most successful athletes in winter sports. He rose to prominence as India’s sole representative at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, becoming the face of Indian winter sports.
In November 2021, Arif earned India’s first quota place for the Slalom event at Beijing 2022. A month later, he clinched another Olympic quota in the Giant Slalom event with an impressive performance in a competition held in Montenegro.
Skiing has been an integral part of Arif’s life since childhood. His father, Yasin Khan, runs a ski equipment shop in Gulmarg, which sparked Arif’s early interest in the sport. He started skiing at the age of just four, and today, he stands among the most accomplished winter athletes from India.
