Vasundhara Oswal, the heir to the Oswal Group, was arrested on October 1, 2024, during a visit to an ENA plant in Uganda. She was reportedly taken into custody without a warrant or any formal charges.
Her father, Pankaj Oswal, has appealed to the President of Uganda in an open letter, expressing concern that his daughter is being denied basic rights and legal assistance. He urged the authorities to take the matter seriously.
Meanwhile, Vasundhara’s mother, Radhika Oswal, made an emotional appeal to the Ugandan government, stating, “This is every mother’s worst nightmare. My daughter has been unjustly imprisoned in a foreign country.”
Vasundhara Oswal is a successful businesswoman who plays an active role in her family’s business. Recently, her family purchased a lavish ₹1649 crore home in Switzerland.
