CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The national song Vande Mataram is not merely a song, but a symbol of India’s social, cultural, and intellectual heritage. It has the power to unite not only the nation but the entire world on a common thread and to show the right direction. These views were expressed by Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Narendra Singh Tomar, at the Divyansh Silver Jubilee celebration of the Arvind Society, Bhopal branch. He stated that Vande Mataram remains as relevant today as ever and continues to inspire constant efforts in the national interest.
Speaking at the discourse organized on the theme Arvind’s India and Vande Mataram, Tomar said that Sri Aurobindo was not only a spiritual thinker but also a karmayogi. He believed that mere independence was not sufficient; India needed complete self-rule. This very spirit is being carried forward today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Vande Mataram. He further said that Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and Maharshi Aurobindo were divinely inspired to follow the path of devotion to Vande Mataram.

The program was presided over by Hemant Muktibodh, Regional Joint Organising Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He said that Vande Mataram conveys the message of unity of thought, vision, and action. It is a remarkable confluence of patriotism and spirituality that has awakened the spirit of national reverence in millions of people. Expressing concern over the divided perception of Vande Mataram, he called for awakening self-awareness, awareness of adversaries, and awareness of friends.
Special guest MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani described the multifaceted personality of Sri Aurobindo and stated that the role of Vande Mataram in the freedom movement continues to be a source of inspiration even today. The Chief Minister’s Cultural Advisor, Shriram Tiwari, was also present at the event.
At the ceremony, Shri Aurobindo Society President Umesh Trivedi, Madhya Pradesh Chapter President Manoj Sharma, and other speakers shared their views. The program concluded with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, poetry recitation, and a vote of thanks.
