CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, held in the capital Bhopal under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026’ launched on the auspicious occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, concluded with unprecedented enthusiasm and wide public participation.

The entire capital was illuminated as lamps were lit simultaneously at identified key locations in the urban and rural areas of Bhopal, the city of lakes. In the urban areas, dignified collective lamp-lighting events were organised at major historical, religious and public places. These included Bhanpur Khanti, the Raja Bhoj statue on VIP Road, Shaheed Dwar in Shahjahanabad, Manuabhan Tekri, Roshanpura Square, Shaurya Smarak, Namo Van at Lalghati, 74 Bungalows Link Road, Prempura Ghat, the Rani Kamlapati statue at the Arch Bridge, Birla Temple, AIIMS Hospital, Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, Durga Temple Geetanjali, Braj Colony Karond, Unani Shafakhana on Marwari Road, Shabban Square and Boat Club. At these prominent sites, citizens, intellectuals, public representatives and youth lit lamps with devotion and prayed for Bhopal’s prosperity and public welfare.

A splendid display of lamps was also seen at temples and water bodies in rural areas. There was immense enthusiasm among residents in the rural parts of the capital for the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme. Collective lamp offerings were made at major temples, ponds and public places in rural areas. Citizens and villagers enthusiastically lit lamps at the Ramdev Baba temple premises in Gram Panchayat Chanderi, Amrit Sarovar in Aredi, the pond temple complex in Imalia, Hanuman Temple in Pataniya, the riverbank at Intkhedi Sadak, Patel Baba Temple in Amoni, the community shed in Sikandarabad, the pond temple in Bagroda, the pond nursery in Barkhedi Bazyaft, the Pathshala pond premises in Barkheda Bondar and Harihar Temple in Phanda Kalan.

A grand beginning to the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was marked through public participation. Local residents, women from self-help groups, students and people from different sections of society took part voluntarily in the lamp-offering events held across Bhopal. These illuminated venues not only became symbols of festivity but also served as a strong medium to further strengthen the resolve of service, participation and social harmony under the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026’.
