CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Vivek University organized a marathon competition on the occasion of World Health Day, where Ashish Kumar won first place in the men’s category, and Sagarika secured first place in the women’s category. In the men’s division, Virendra Singh came in second, followed by Monu in third. In the women’s category, Kajal Kumari placed second and Sana took third place. Additionally, the top 25 participants were awarded consolation prizes.
The first prize in the marathon was ₹11,000, second prize ₹5,100, and third prize ₹2,100—awarded separately for both male and female categories.
The marathon began at 7:00 AM from Nehru Stadium and was flagged off by the University’s Chancellor Amit Goyal, Pro-Chancellor Deepak Mittal, Vice-Chancellor N.K. Gupta, Financial Advisor Anil Sharma, and District Sports Officer Rajkumar.
The Vivek Marathon started from Nehru Stadium and passed through Shakti Chowk, Kotwali Bukhara Road, and Jani Chowk, concluding at Vivek College on Noorpur Road. Five checkpoints were set up along the route to verify participants’ chest numbers. A total of 1300 participants from different walks of life—including youth, women, and senior citizens—took part in the event. Men and women from Bijnor enthusiastically participated in large numbers.
Chancellor Amit Goyal stated that this year’s World Health Organization theme is “My health, my right,” and this event was held in line with that theme to spread awareness about good health among the residents of Bijnor.
The event concluded with cultural performances by university students, including Ganesh Vandana, fusion dance, Haryanvi dance, Chak De India, classical dance, and a mime act, which deeply moved the audience. The program was hosted by Vishwajeet and Neha. Key contributors to the event’s success included Dean Dr. Deepti Dimri, Dr. Rajeev Chaudhary, Dr. Debashish, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Dr. Sarvesh Sheetal, Dr. Ranganathan, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, Dr. Rizwan Ahmed, Dr. Meena Chaudhary, Dr. Pushpa Joshi, Shailendra Sharma, Manika, and Mukul Kumar, along with other faculty and non-teaching staff.
