CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he was shocked when a senior BJP leader told him the motive behind arresting him in connection with liquor policy cases. Kejriwal said works stalled due to his absence will be resumed immediately.

The AAP leader on Tuesday accompanied Chief Minister Atishi while inspecting road repair works in the Delhi University area on Tuesday. Former deputy CM Manish Sisodia and local MLA Dilip Pandey were present. Kejriwal said problems of Delhites will be addressed and damaged roads will be repaired.

Addressing presspersons, Kejriwal charged the BJP wanted to defame the AAP by derailing development works in the national capital, hence he was jailed. “A few days ago I met their (BJP) big leader. I asked what did you get with my arrest? I was shocked and felt sad to hear him say that at least the Delhi government got derailed and the city was stalled,” Kejriwal alleged.

“Their aim was to defame the AAP government by stalling work in Delhi,” the former CM charged, PTI reported. The former CM asserted that the AAP government in the national capital would not let people’s work get stalled.

Kejriwal said he was in action mode even while he was jailed in Tihar prison and added, “I want to assure the people of Delhi that I have come back and the stalled works will be resumed. All their problems will be solved.”

The AAP chief was recently released from Tihar jail after the Supreme Court granted him bail in cases registered in connection with alleged scam in scrapped Delhi liquor policy. However, the bail conditions restricted him from visiting CMO or signing official files.
