CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The integration of tradition and modern disciplines in astrology is becoming a driving factor behind its universality. Many scholars, while working in various fields, are showing a keen interest in astrology and are making unique contributions driven by that interest.
In recognition of such contributions, the Department of Astrology at Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal Campus, has consistently encouraged and honored scholars working in modern fields. Continuing this tradition, the Head of the Astrology Department, Prof. Bharatbhushan Mishra, honored three scholars today.
These include Director Amit Mishra, a research student from Banaras Hindu University, who is tirelessly working on simplifying theoretical mathematics through computer programming to make it accessible to people. Ashish Mishra, a resident of Avadhpuri, Bhopal, is contributing by creating model instruments using Corel Programming to help understand celestial planetary positions.
Rajesh Mishra, an Electrical Engineer (Senior Engineer) with the Electrical Department in Bhopal, has a profound interest in astrology and has been successfully editing the Pushpanjali Panchang for many years. Department Head Mishra extended his best wishes to the scholars for their work and assured them of full support. He also invited all astrologers to come together on a single platform to conduct research.
Subodh Sharma, the acting Director of the campus, remarked that the mathematical principles found in our scriptures can be easily understood through technical means, which is why the university has always encouraged modern scholars. The honoring event was attended by Professor Dataram Pathak from the Faculty of Education, and from the Department of Astrology, faculty members Ashish Kumar Chaudhary, Anil Kumar, Ravindra Prasad Uniyal, Bhupendra Kumar Pandey, Rohit Kumar Pachauri, along with Philosophy Professor Anoop Mishra and Computer Science Professor Sumit Saxena.
