CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhopal, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The event featured cultural programs, student competitions, and the inauguration of a significant green initiative.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the singing of Saraswati Vandana. Campus Academic Coordinator (CAC) Dr. Debjyoti Ganguly addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of Independence Day. Joint Director Akhil Sahai and Director Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Agarwal also shared their inspiring words, emphasizing the significance of freedom and responsibility.

The cultural segment of the program included a melodious solo song and an energetic group dance, showcasing the unique talents and creativity of the students.

Another major highlight of the event was the logo-making competition and the planter decoration contest. The winners were awarded during the event. Following this, the inauguration of “Van Vatika” (a natural dye garden) took place, featuring plants like onion, harad, and spinach. This garden was created to promote natural dyeing processes. Additionally, the tree-planting campaign under the initiative “A Tree in Mother’s Name” was launched, with enthusiastic participation from the students.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Nayantara Singh, Student Development Activity Coordinator (SDAC), who expressed gratitude to everyone for making the event a success. Finally, participants took selfies with the national flag to commemorate the special day and enjoyed refreshments.

This celebration at NIFT Bhopal symbolized not only academic excellence but also a commitment to fostering patriotism and environmental awareness among students.
