CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University in Bhopal celebrated the birth centenary of revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee and its Foundation Day.
The event was graced by Chief Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh, Umashankar Pachauri, as the chief guest and University Ombudsman Harendra Mohan Mishra as the special guest. The program was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Khem Singh Daheeriya.
Durin the event, the “Atal Thought” session was held, where the faculty president addressed the gathering, describing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s life as that of a great visionary who provided India with a new perspective.
Special guest Harendra Mohan Mishra, Ombudsman of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University, shared his admiration for Atal from his student days, recalling his first interaction with him at the age of 19. He described Atal as a prophet and visionary of India.
Chief Guest Umashankar Pachauri, Chief Information Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh, referred to Atal as a “Karmavadi” (a man of action), emphasizing that work was paramount in his life, and he inspired the India of the future.
Vice-Chancellor Khem Singh Daheeriya reflected on Atal’s multifaceted personality, highlighting how the university has consistently followed the path shown by Atal and continues to progress toward excellence. He affirmed the university’s dedication to honoring Atal’s legacy.
Additionally, under the guidance of Ravindra Munde, students from the Drama Department presented selected poems by Atal through poetic recitation.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by University Registrar Shailendra Kumar Jain. During the event, students who participated in inter-university, district-level, division-level, and state-level competitions throughout the year were awarded shields and certificates. The event was attended by assistant professors, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
