Tata Motors announced that it will reduce prices of its passenger vehicles by up to ₹1.45 lakh, effective September 22. Models like the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, and Safari will see price cuts ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.45 lakh. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized that the company is fully honoring the intent of the GST reform by passing the entire benefit to customers.

Similarly, Maruti Suzuki plans to reduce prices of its entry-level models. The Alto could become cheaper by ₹40,000–50,000, while the Wagon R may see reductions between ₹60,000 and ₹67,000. These price adjustments are expected to make personal mobility more accessible, especially for first-time buyers, and stimulate demand during the upcoming festive season.
