CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: A special public awareness campaign conducted by the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway on the occasion of International Level Crossing Awareness Day concluded successfully on Friday.

Organised under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi and the direction of Senior Divisional Safety Officer Vijay Shankar Gautam, the week-long campaign covered a total of 85 level crossing gates on the Bhopal-Bina, Bina-Itarsi and Guna-Ganjbasoda rail sections of the Bhopal Division. During the campaign, road users were made aware of the precautions to be observed while crossing railway gates.

Officials and employees of the engineering, operations and safety departments actively participated in the campaign. More than 6,000 road users were informed about safe ways to cross level crossings, the need to follow rail safety rules, and measures to prevent possible accidents.

On the occasion of International Level Crossing Awareness Day, special awareness programmes were organised at various level crossing gates across the division. The safety department of the Bhopal Rail Division also created awareness about rail safety through street plays, public outreach activities and direct interaction near railway stations and level crossings.

During the campaign, public announcement systems, audio messages, pamphlet distribution and various social media platforms were also used effectively at level crossing gates. Road users, especially at busy level crossings, were informed about safety rules and sensitised accordingly.

Giving top priority to the safety of rail and road users, the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway said it will continue to organise such public awareness campaigns in the future.
