CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / Bhopal: To achieve the goal of the Government of India to make the country TB-free by 2025, an awareness campaign is being conducted at Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center.

Under this, various programs are being organized in the institute. An essay competition on the topic TB Free India has been organized for BMHRC employees and students.

Poster competition and improvised speech competition were held. A quiz competition was also organized to enhance the knowledge of the doctors of the hospital about TB.

Employees and officers participated enthusiastically in these competitions. Dr Manisha Srivastava, in-charge director of BMHRC, said that on April 8, a discussion will be organized on the topic ‘National Strategic Plan for TB Elimination’.

Dr Lalit Kumar, head of BMHRC’s pulmonology department, will also deliver a lecture on ‘Adult BCG Vaccine’. Also, winners of various competitions will be rewarded.

Dr. Srivastava said that TB is a disease that affects many organs simultaneously. In such a situation, if any person has a mild fever, loss of appetite or cough for two weeks, then the doctor should be seen immediately. The government has set up several centres for TB diagnosis and treatment. He told that TB patients also need a lot of nutritious food.

For this, the government has started the Nikshay Mitra scheme. Any person can join this scheme and contribute in delivering nutritious food to the affected people.
