CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An awareness program on sickle cell anemia was organized in the Pediatric OPD area at AIIMS. Executive Professor Ajay Singh of AIIMS stated, “We are making continuous efforts to raise awareness about sickle cell anemia. This genetic disorder affects many individuals and their families, and it is our responsibility to prioritize education and early identification in our healthcare services.
By organizing awareness sessions and sensitization programs, our goal is to equip patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers with the knowledge to identify symptoms early, access effective treatment options, and manage the disease more efficiently. Through widespread community literacy, advanced genetic screening, and a robust support system, we can make a significant impact in preventing and managing sickle cell anemia, thereby fulfilling the Government of India’s vision of a ‘Sickle-Free India.’ Together, we can progress toward a future where sickle cell anemia is no longer a barrier to living a healthy and fulfilling life.”
