CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Awareness camps were organized at all Anganwadi centers under the Women and Child Development Division, Bhopal, during the seventh National Nutrition Month. The program focused on educating beneficiaries about the importance of breastfeeding, continuing breastfeeding after six months along with complementary feeding, proper breastfeeding techniques, and the use of millets and local foods in complementary feeding. Various food items and millet-based dishes were demonstrated. The program saw the participation of project officers, supervisors, and local representatives.

In Bhopal district, a quiz competition was organized at Sadhu Vaswani College, Bairagarh, by the Motia Park project as part of the Nutrition Month program. The competition involved the participation of Joint Divisional Director Naki Jahan Qureshi, Project Officer Mridul Malviya, supervisors, and the college principal, along with students. The Joint Divisional Director gave a detailed explanation of the significance of Nutrition Month.

In all Anganwadi centers of the Baan Ganga project, meetings were held for pregnant and lactating women, providing information on dietary diversity in complementary feeding and promoting the use of local grains.

A children’s nutrition festival was held at the Anganwadi center in Chhindgaon Mauji, Sehore district. The village’s Sarpanch, Preeti Kunwar Rajendra Singh Bhati, donated chairs, tables, water coolers, dustbins, ceiling fans, mats, and other materials to the three Anganwadi centers in Chhindgaon Mauji.

In Raisen district, discussions on complementary feeding after six months were held in all Anganwadi centers under the main theme. A nutrition exhibition and community-based activities were organized, including a Suposhan Day, where food diversity and the concept of a nutrition plate were discussed. Project officers, supervisors, local representatives, women, and adolescent girls participated in the program.

In Rajgarh district, a rally was organized to raise awareness about nutrition in Anganwadi centers. Suposhan Day was observed, and discussions were held on regular complementary feeding for children, emphasizing the inclusion of local grains and millets. A nutrition garden was also established at the panchayat level.
