CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: With the objective of preventing dengue and malaria and increasing public awareness, the District Malaria Office, Bhopal, put up awareness posters on prevention of dengue and malaria at various designated government offices, hospitals and public places.

Under this campaign, posters were put up at 20 different locations in an effort to make citizens aware of mosquito-borne diseases. Through the posters, citizens were advised not to allow water to accumulate in and around homes, to keep water tanks and containers covered, to regularly clean coolers and other water storage containers, and to wear full-sleeved clothing and use mosquito nets to protect themselves from mosquitoes.

The Health Department appealed to the public to cooperate in the prevention of dengue and malaria and, in case of fever, to immediately visit the nearest health centre for testing and treatment. Prevention is the most effective measure against dengue and malaria. Control of these diseases is possible only through public participation.
