CNN Central News and Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News, Bhopal: On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the Department of Political Science at the Government Arts and Commerce College (Leading), Sagar, organized an awareness program under the guidance of Principal Dr. Saroj Gupta. As part of the program, students formed a human chain and pledged to promote awareness and safeguard human rights.
Senior Political Science faculty member Pratibha Jain addressed the gathering, emphasizing the increasing violations of human rights caused by humans themselves. She stated,
“The growing desire for power has led to a rise in incidents of human rights violations worldwide. It is a matter of grave concern that humans are infringing upon the rights granted to them by nature and the constitution.”
Another faculty member, Sandeep Sablok, explained that human rights are not something to be demanded but felt. He said,
“Every individual is entitled to their human rights from birth to death. Students must not only understand the rights granted to them by nature and the constitution but also avoid infringing upon the rights of others.”
Senior faculty member Dr. Ranjana Mishra administered a pledge to the students to protect human rights and spread awareness about them. The participating students formed a human chain and resolved to contribute to the protection, preservation, and promotion of human rights.
