CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As part of the seventh National Nutrition Month, the Department of Women and Child Development, in coordination with all departments, organized awareness programs at Anganwadi centers in all projects across the five districts of the Bhopal division. The programs aimed to raise awareness about key stages of the life cycle, nutrition during pregnancy and childhood, and water conservation. Additionally, ‘Mangal Diwas’ was celebrated at the Anganwadi centers.
In all projects in Rajgarh district, ‘Mangal Diwas’ included a baby shower ceremony for pregnant women at the Anganwadi centers. A nutrition exhibition was held at the centers, showcasing dishes made from millets and leafy vegetables as part of a balanced diet. The importance of water conservation, efficient water use, and the availability of clean drinking water were discussed in detail with the women present.
In Bhopal district, ‘Mangal Diwas’ was celebrated at all Anganwadi centers. In the Bhopal Bairagarh project, during ‘Mangal Diwas,’ a baby shower ceremony was held for pregnant women under the Nutrition Month initiative, and discussions on nutrition were conducted with them. Women were informed about high-quality foods, the regular intake of iron and calcium tablets, and the importance of routine health check-ups.
In Vidisha district, programs were organized under the ‘WASH Sensitization’ theme as part of Nutrition Month. An awareness camp was held for adolescent girls in Vidisha Rural Sector at Anganwadi centers, where they were informed about water sanitation and health. ‘Mangal Diwas’ was celebrated, including baby shower ceremonies for pregnant women, and information on balanced diets, vaccinations, and safe drinking water was shared with them.
Awareness activities were also held at Anganwadi centers in Sehore district, where women and adolescent girls were educated about the regular consumption of millets and green vegetables, water conservation, and safe drinking water.
