CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Ayesha Takia made her Bollywood debut in 2004 with the film ‘Tarzan: The Wonder Car’. The film did not perform especially well at the box office, but Ayesha won the Filmfare and IIFA awards for Best Female Debut for her performance. She later worked in films such as ‘Socha Na Tha’, ‘Dor’, ‘Shaadi No. 1’ and ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, building a distinct identity for herself.
In 2009, Ayesha Takia appeared opposite Salman Khan in ‘Wanted’. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the film became a major commercial success and remains among the most talked-about films of Ayesha’s career. However, around the same period, she decided to distance herself from films. In March 2009, she married businessman Farhan Azmi and later began focusing on family life and her husband’s business.
Ayesha returned to acting in 2011 with the film ‘Mod’, but after that she stayed away from the big screen. In 2012, she also hosted the music-based reality show ‘Sur Kshetra’. In recent years, she has rarely been seen at public events or on social media. In 2024, her photographs sparked considerable discussion and trolling on social media, after which she appealed to people not to comment on her appearance. She also made it clear that she had no interest in returning to films.
