CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ Ujjain: On the occasion of Ayurveda Day, a program titled “Ayurveda for Every Individual, Ayurveda for the Earth” was organized at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain. The event was conducted jointly by the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell and the School of Pharmacy, Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain. The purpose of the program was to revisit the significance of the ancient Indian medical system, Ayurveda, and to understand its relevance in the modern context.

The program commenced under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Arpan Bhardwaj. The chief guests included Amar Rathore, Medical Officer (Homeopathy), and Dr. Shweta Gujarati and Sangeeta Sharma, Medical Officers (Ayurveda) from the Ujjain AYUSH Department. On behalf of the university, both distinguished guests were welcomed with bouquets and ceremonial shawls.

The program featured an in-depth discussion on the importance and medicinal properties of Ayurveda. Speakers highlighted how the ancient Indian medical system can play a vital role in the treatment and prevention of diseases associated with modern lifestyles. They also emphasized the connection between Ayurveda, good health, and overall well-being, demonstrating how traditional knowledge can contribute to achieving global health goals.

During the event, students and faculty of the university presented various models and demonstrations based on Ayurvedic principles, showcasing the medicinal uses of herbs. The program concluded with a pledge, in which participants vowed to make Ayurveda a part of their daily lives and to adopt a natural lifestyle. The guests, in their addresses, highlighted the unique features of Ayurveda and Indian medical science, stating that this system not only aids in disease treatment but also promotes a healthy lifestyle. They encouraged youth to balance traditional knowledge with modern science to contribute to the well-being of society. The event was conducted smoothly with effective transitions, and at the conclusion, the organizers expressed gratitude to all guests and attendees.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Arpan Bhardwaj stated that the day holds special significance for nature. Ayurveda is not merely a treatment method but a holistic lifestyle. While the world today relies heavily on modern technology and medications, Ayurveda teaches us to prevent illnesses through a balanced diet, routine, and natural remedies. It is a priceless heritage of India, and preserving and disseminating it is our responsibility. The university will continue to integrate traditional Indian knowledge with modern research through such programs.

Teachers and students attended the Ayurveda Day event in large numbers. Health check-ups were conducted for the attending students, and free medicines were distributed. The program proved educational and inspiring for all. The presence of Kamlesh Dashora, Head of the School of Pharmacy, and Dr. Sachin Rai from the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell added significant value to the event.
