CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In Bhopal district, Ayushman cards are continuously being created for senior citizens over the age of 70. As an innovative initiative, Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal, Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, made special arrangements for creating Ayushman cards for doctors over 70 years of age. During a special program held at the CMHO office, Ayushman cards were made for over 50 doctors.

The program was attended by senior officials, including Executive Officer Abhishek Dubey (State Administrative Service) from Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Madhya Pradesh. The first Ayushman card in the district was created on October 30, and over 1,200 cards have been made so far. On November 11, a special Ayushman card generation event was held for senior doctors, where notable individuals such as Senior Pediatrician Prof. Dr. Sheila Bhambal, former Director Medico-Legal Gandhi Medical College Director D.K. Satpathy, former Dean Gandhi Medical College Prof. Dr. Nirbhay Srivastava, former Head of the Forensic Department Prof. Dr. Bhanu Dubey, former Civil Surgeon Dr. S.K. Saxena, A.K. Choudhary, I.K. Chugh, Dr. Anil Shukla, Senior Gynecologist Meenakshi Patel, Head of Pediatric Surgery Budhani, Pediatric Specialist S.K. Trivedi, Medicine Specialist S.K. Dwivedi, Dental Specialist D.K. Joshi, and Orthopedic Specialist Rajesh Patel, among others, received new Ayushman cards.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla have instructed that senior citizens be promptly benefited under this scheme. Under the plan, all senior citizens aged 70 and above will receive free/cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh during hospitalization. Eligible senior citizens are being issued a new card/special identification number under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

District Health Officer and Ayushman Bharat Nodal Officer Manoj Hurmade stated that Ayushman cards for senior citizens are being created through the BIS portal and Ayushman app, with eligibility determined based on the Aadhaar card.

Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal, mentioned that special arrangements were made for creating Ayushman cards for doctors who have selflessly served beneficiaries with dedication for a long time, acknowledging their significant contributions. Special camps are also being organized in the district to ensure that Ayushman cards are made for all eligible senior citizens as soon as possible. To spread awareness and inform people about this scheme, senior citizens who have made notable contributions in various areas of the district are also being involved. The next camp in this series is scheduled to be held in Nishat Colony and on November 9 at Kolar Road.
