CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s journey to films did not follow a conventional route. Before entering the world of acting, he built his identity through theatre, street plays and music. During his college days, he would board the Delhi-to-Mumbai Paschim Express with friends and sing and perform in different coaches. The money received from passengers often helped him cover his travel expenses. Ayushmann had also described himself, in a humorous way, as a “train singer”.

Ayushmann chose the world of entertainment after leaving behind a possible path in the medical field. After working in radio and television, he made his Bollywood acting debut in 2012 with “Vicky Donor”. The film gave him a start with an unusual story and character, helping him create a distinct identity.

The actor had said that, as an outsider starting out in Bollywood, the choice of his first film was extremely important. Before “Vicky Donor”, he turned down several film offers because he wanted to begin with a project that could give his career a different direction. He had described the start of his career as a decision that involved taking a risk.

After “Vicky Donor”, Ayushmann worked in films built around different subjects and roles. Along with acting, singing also remained an important part of his career.
