Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has alleged that his life is in danger in jail, saying a conspiracy is being hatched to kill him inside the prison. He claimed that elections in Uttar Pradesh are approaching and some people do not want him to come out of jail. After his statement, political discussion in the state has intensified.
Azam Khan made the remark when the Supreme Court heard legal proceedings related to his case. He expressed apprehensions about his security in jail and voiced concern over his situation.
Intervening in the matter, the Supreme Court asked Azam Khan to approach the Allahabad High Court for his complaint and related relief. The court directed him to follow the appropriate legal process. For now, he has not received immediate relief from the Supreme Court.
