CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of the National Education Policy-2020 Apex Committee of the Higher Education Department was held under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar.
The meeting focused on postgraduate-level courses, admission to undergraduate agriculture courses, and the implementation of Apprenticeship-Embedded Degree Programs.
It was decided that students who wish to pursue a postgraduate degree in a subject different from their chosen major or minor at the undergraduate level will have their eligibility determined through an interview process conducted by the state universities. Admission to postgraduate programs for eligible students will be based on undergraduate academic performance (marks obtained).
Additionally, it was decided that starting from the upcoming academic session, admissions to B.Sc. Agriculture courses will be conducted through:
The State-level Pre-Agriculture Test (PAT),
The Undergraduate Common University Entrance Test (CUET), or
University-level entrance examinations.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Anupam Rajan, Higher Education Commissioner Nishant Barbed, Chairman of the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee Ravindra Kanhere, university vice-chancellors, apex committee members, and senior departmental officials.
