Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, who became popular across the country with the song “Baby Doll”, has announced her separation from her second marriage. Kanika and her husband, businessman Gautam Hathiramani, have decided to go their separate ways after around four years of marriage. The two were married in May 2022 in London in the presence of family and close friends.
Kanika shared a statement on social media on Tuesday announcing the decision. She wrote that, after considerable thought, the two had decided to separate. She expressed gratitude for the time they spent together and wished Gautam well for the future. She also appealed to family and fans to respect their privacy during this difficult period.
In a recent interview, Kanika made it clear that the reason for their separation was not the presence of any third person. She said no other person had entered her life and, as far as she knew, there was no other person in Gautam’s life either. Kanika also said that going through a divorce situation for the second time had brought her sadness and disappointment.
Kanika’s first marriage was in 1998 to London-based doctor Raj Chandok. The two divorced in 2012. They have three children from the marriage. After her first marriage ended, Kanika focused on her music career and made her mark with songs such as “Baby Doll”, “Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan” and “Tukur Tukur”.
