CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the inspiration and guidance of Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Department of Posts is carrying out beautification of all post offices under Project Arrow / Look and Feel in the Shivpuri Postal Division. In this sequence, the beautification work of the Badarwas Sub Post Office in the Shivpuri Postal Division was inaugurated by Communications Minister Shri Scindia himself. On this occasion, Shri Scindia also addressed a public gathering.
The inauguration program was attended by Shivpuri district in-charge minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Chief Postmaster General Vineet Mathur, Director of Postal Services Bhopal Pawan Dalmia, Assistant Director Savings Bank Bhopal S. K. Pandey, Superintendent of Post Offices Guna O. P. Chaturvedi, Superintendent of Post Offices Shivpuri H. S. Bhilwar, Kolaras विधायक Mahendra Singh Yadav, Collector Shivpuri, and Superintendent of Police Shivpuri, among others.
After the formal inauguration ceremony, the public meeting was held at Agrwal Dharamshala, Badarwas. While delivering the welcome address, Chief Postmaster General Vineet Mathur said that under the able guidance of Shri Scindia, the Department of Posts is continuously creating new milestones. Post offices are benefiting the general public by delivering welfare schemes of the Government of India. The Project Arrow / Look and Feel initiative, aimed at making postal services more accessible and attractive, has been made possible due to the untiring efforts of the Communications Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri Scindia said that the general public of the region will now receive facilities similar to those provided by banks. Old post office buildings, which were earlier in a dilapidated condition, have been beautified as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that a post office is no longer just a post office; it knows every household, every family, every grandmother in its area and villages. Whenever there is difficulty in a household, the village postman is called upon. From delivering messages from the borders to homes, the postman has always played a vital role. In the changing times, the postman now brings banking services, including savings bank accounts, doorstep banking, Postal Life Insurance, and the importance of Sukanya Samriddhi accounts was also highlighted.
The Department of Posts will now also facilitate the dispatch of jackets manufactured in Badarwas not only across the country but also abroad.
Minister Scindia further said that an agreement has been signed with the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, after which samples of pesticides will be sent from post offices to laboratories for testing. He stated that it is his responsibility to place post offices in the front line. The post office is the department of the country’s 140 crore citizens. The Department of Posts plays an important role as a carrier of communication, financial services, and social security in India, providing vital outreach to people, especially in rural areas.
