CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Ganga Water Conservation Campaign will be launched in the district from 19 March with the objective of preserving and enhancing water structures. The campaign aims to make water conservation effective and result-oriented through public participation.

Under the campaign, restoration and repair of old water structures such as stepwells, ponds, and recharge pits will be carried out. Special attention will also be given to rainwater harvesting and the preservation of water sources. A detailed action plan will be prepared for the conservation and restoration of the district’s lifeline rivers, including the Bairsia and Kolans, as well as other major water bodies.

These instructions were given by Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh during a review meeting with the concerned officials. He emphasized that water conservation activities in all municipal bodies and gram panchayats of the district should be executed in a time-bound manner. Rooftop water harvesting systems should be installed in government offices, and old stepwells should be repaired and brought back into use.

The campaign will focus on broad public participation by involving voluntary organizations, social groups, and the general public. The Collector also instructed special attention to be given to drinking water supply during summer and to ensure immediate solutions in case of water-related issues in rural areas.

Additionally, he reviewed the progress of HPV vaccination in the district and directed the Departments of Women & Child Development, Health, and Education to organize joint camps to ensure vaccination of all 14-year-old girls. Vaccination will be carried out with parental consent and awareness.

During the CM Helpline review, the Collector instructed prompt resolution of pending complaints, timely redressal of complaints received in cluster-level camps under the “Sankalp Se Samadhan” campaign, and verification of registered farmers within deadlines.

The meeting was attended by the District Panchayat CEO, Additional Collector, SDM, and other departmental officers. This campaign will mark a new beginning in water conservation in the district and ensure sustainable use of water resources.
