The Balstep Project, operated by Mahaveer International, has been honored with the prestigious Landmark Nutrition Award 2025 in Mumbai for its commendable efforts in eradicating malnutrition among women and children. Along with the award, the organization received a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, which will be utilized for the expansion of the Balstep Project.
About the Landmark Nutrition Award 2025
The Landmark Nutrition Award 2025 was announced by the Landmark Foundation and IDBRO to recognize organizations working towards eliminating malnutrition among pregnant and lactating women and children.
International Director of Women & Child Welfare (Balstep), Rashmi Saxena, represented the Balstep Project in Mumbai and secured first place in the top category for Best Poverty Eradication Expanding Projects and Best Trust Expansion under the Landmark Nutrition Award.
A total of 403 organizations from across the country had nominated themselves for the award.
Mission and Impact of Balstep Project
Director Rashmi Saxena highlighted that the organization is actively conducting awareness programs under its Nutrition Security and Proper Nutrition-Hygiene initiative, focusing on:
Pregnant and lactating mothers
Malnourished children and those recovering from malnutrition
Providing awareness about adequate nutrition and healthy food intake
Future Commitments and Expansion
International Head Veer Ashok Gopal stated that this initiative has already benefited thousands of children and pregnant women. Inspired by this recognition, the organization aims to intensify its efforts in eradicating malnutrition among mothers and children in the coming years.
