CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : On the occasion of Bank Nationalisation Day and Farmers’ Day, Bank of India, Bhopal Zone, organized a special outreach program at Hotel Crescent, Sehore. The program was held under the esteemed chairmanship of Executive Director Mr. P. R. Rajagopal.
The objective of the event was to raise awareness among farmers about various agricultural loan schemes run by the bank. These included the PM-Kisan scheme, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Crop Insurance Scheme), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), and financial assistance schemes under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
While addressing the program, Mr. P. R. Rajagopal appreciated the invaluable contribution of farmers to nation-building and reiterated the bank’s full commitment to their economic empowerment. In his speech, he stated,
“Farmers are the backbone of the Indian economy, and Bank of India is always dedicated and committed to their development and welfare.”
He also emphasized the importance of adopting advanced agricultural technologies to improve productivity, sustainability, and livelihoods.
On this occasion, claim cheques under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) were distributed to beneficiaries, and loan sanction letters were also handed over to farmers. Additionally, some exemplary farmers were honored on stage for their commendable efforts.
Mr. P. R. Rajagopal also felicitated Self-Help Groups (SHGs), progressive farmers, and RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institutes) beneficiaries for their contribution to rural development. This outreach initiative also served as a vital step toward promoting financial inclusion and awareness about digital banking among rural communities.
The event was attended by more than 500 farmers from Bhopal and Sehore districts. Senior officials present included Field General Manager Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Deputy General Manager Mr. Subodh Kumar, and Assistant General Manager Mr. Bhanwar Lal Harsh from the Field General Manager Office, Bhopal. From the Zonal Office, Bhopal, Zonal Manager Mr. Bikas Ranjan Patnaik, Deputy Zonal Manager Ms. Sangeeta Gupta, and other senior officers of the bank were also present.
