CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The convocation ceremony for the 2023–24 session of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, was held with grandeur at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre (Minto Hall). The program was presided over by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor, Mangubhai Patel, with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav as the Chief Guest and Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar as the Special Guest.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, Vedic chants, and a majestic academic procession. After lighting the ceremonial lamp, Vice-Chancellor Suresh Kumar Jain delivered the welcome address and administered the oath to students.

On this occasion, Governor Patel congratulated the university for securing an “A” grade in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) evaluation and urged students to contribute to nation-building. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the significance of the New Education Policy (NEP) and mother-tongue education, highlighting that Madhya Pradesh is the first state to begin medical studies in Hindi. He also announced that the dreams of over 78,000 students had come true this year, including 59,000 undergraduates, 18,000 postgraduates, 190 PhDs, and 21 gold medalists.

Minister Parmar called on students to remain socially sensitive and shared insights on the successful implementation of NEP 2020. He stressed the importance of digital evaluation and India’s knowledge traditions. During the ceremony, 190 students were awarded PhD degrees, while 26 students received gold medals. The university’s annual report and souvenir were also released. The event concluded with the national anthem, conducted by Anusuya Tiwari and Registrar Anil Sharma.
