CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An orientation programme on youth activities and the National Service Scheme (NSS) was organised for students at the Institute of Management, Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Vivek Sharma, Institute of Management Director Prof. Pawan Mishra, and a large number of students and teachers were present at the programme.
Addressing the students, NSS state trainer Rahul Singh Parihar gave detailed information on the role, objectives and various youth activities of the National Service Scheme. He said NSS is not limited to service activities alone, but is an effective medium for developing leadership ability, social responsibility, discipline, team spirit and a sense of nation-building among students.
Parihar encouraged students to actively participate in various social and community activities, saying that youth power is the country’s greatest asset. Positive change can be brought to society by developing a spirit of service, sensitivity and responsibility among young people. He also provided information on activities, training programmes and campaigns linked to social concerns organised through NSS.
On the occasion, former Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Management, Prof. Vivek Sharma extended his best wishes to the students and said student life is an important period for personality development. The objective of education is not only to acquire knowledge, but also to understand one’s responsibilities towards society and the nation. He called upon students to take an active part in creative and social activities.
Prof. Pawan Mishra, Director, Institute of Management, said youth activities play an important role in the overall development of students. Through NSS, students get an opportunity to connect with different sections of society and understand service and social responsibilities. He said such orientation programmes inspire students to recognise their abilities and develop them in a positive direction.
Students participated enthusiastically in the programme and received various information related to NSS and youth activities. The atmosphere of the programme infused new energy and enthusiasm among students towards service, leadership and nation-building.
